Deep Pressure. Focused Intention.

As a Barefoot Massage Therapist, I provide a uniquely effective experience by utilizing overhead bars and straps to deliver deep, broad, and focused pressure. By using body weight and gravity, I can access layers of tension that traditional hand-based massage often cannot reach. Every session is customized using a variety of specialized techniques, including pin-and-stretch, cupping therapy, scraping, and trigger point therapy.

The Dialogue of the Body Open communication is the heartbeat of our session. While my feet are trained to feel areas of tension, your feedback is essential for me to understand exactly what is happening within your body. To ensure we stay tuned into your physical goals—like improving mobility and reducing pain—I maintain our treatment room as a neutral, restorative sanctuary.

By steering our conversation away from the "noise" of the outside world, including political or divisive topics, we allow your nervous system to fully decompress. While I provide a safe and supportive space for physical healing, please note that massage therapy is not a substitute for mental health counseling. My focus remains on your physical recovery; should you need deeper emotional support, I am happy to provide a list of local mental health resources.

History of Ashiatsu

Japanese translation- foot pressure

ashi= foot, atsu= pressure

Ashiatsu has been around for more than 3,000 years spanning from many continents and various cultures. India, Japan, Thailand, China, Fiji the Philippines and Hawaii are locations where barefoot massage has originated from all using different styles by being performed with different balancing tools.

In Eastern medicine, the focus of Ashiatsu was to work with the energy “Chi”, or Ayuvedic energy line. Early forms of Ashiatsu were seen as healing art and not considered massage. After passing through culture’s generations from the Buddhist monks to India’s Chavutti Thirummal did Ashiatsu become a massage form done using less clothes and balancing tools.

In the United States Ashiatsu (Barefoot Massage) focuses more on relieving muscle tension and reducing aches. This Western style is known to improve posture, relieve pain and stress, treat spinal problems, while providing an incredible deep massage while still being gentle.
